SOFM

Is God calling you to the Middle East? A School of Frontier Missions will help you get here and get involved by providing essential training to prepare you to take your place on the mission field.
Be challenged in your relationship with God, find your purpose in the Great Commission, and embark with us on the adventure!

The SOFM is an ideal entrance into a fruitful cross-cultural ministry amongst the unreached people groups of the Middle East. Because most of our people are Arab, particular focus is given to ministry among Arab people groups, but the SOFM will help for ministry among all the people groups of the Middle East. The aim of the school is to give you the skills you will need to minister as part of a team focused on church planting among the least reached including culture and language acquisition, major religious world views, contextualized church planting, missions strategy, team relationships and raising and maintaining support.
The aim of our SOFM is to see church planting movements among the Arab, Jewish, Kurdish and various Sudanese people groups of the region.

This SOFM lecture phase is 12 or 13 weeks long, followed by a two-year field placement assignment somewhere in the region.

SOFMs are run in multiple locations in the region and are conducted in Arabic and English.

Apply the truth of God to life and be further equipped to fulfill your purpose. It's an intense, full-time program consisting of two parts - lecture phase and outreach phase.

You start out with 12 weeks of focused, intensive discipleship in our missions community. You and your classmates will explore a range of topics (God’s nature and character, God’s intention for individuals, peoples and creation, God’s redemption, God’s family, God’s world) and be guided by experienced local and international missions practitioners. Every week will address areas related to following Jesus in life and character, personal relationship with God and missions.
Outside the classroom you will continue to learn these things are you are involved in worship, prayer and intercession, one on one discipleship, work duties, small groups, evangelism, fun times.

The outreach phase

Following the lecture phase, your DTS will head off on a two month outreach where you will serve the lost wherever they are, and share the hope of Christ in many ways: evangelism, discipleship, sports, drama, youth ministry, teaching, prayer, practical service and mercy ministry.
We demonstrate the love of God to people through our lives and through the gifts that He’s given us.  Teams regularly partner with local churches and YWAM ministries to strengthen their ministry and provide for follow up discipleship. Your final week of outreach will be de-briefing and equipping you to continue with everything that God has done in your life over the six months.
Youth with a Mission Middle East offers DTSs in various locations around the region. Most of these are in Arabic and English.
