Children are everywhere - they make up around half the population of the Middle East. Children are highly valued in Middle Eastern culture.
Children are vulnerable to family and social problems, war and trauma, sickness and malnutrition.
Children are products of generational thinking and cultural cycles.
BUT Children are impressionable and teachable, love to play and learn and explore.
YWAM's preschool ministry has been active in the Middle East since the 1980s, in Egypt and Cyprus. A number of preschools currently operating in Egypt have their roots in YWAM preschools. YWAM also pioneered preschools in Jordan that are now run by local societies. We currently have biblical curriculum preschools in Egypt and Lebanon.
The Middle East is a field ripe for the planting. We have millions of children waiting to be taught about life, and led in the ways of God. WE NEED YOU! We have ministry opportunities among Syrian refugees in Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan. And we are opening local preschools and training local teachers throughout the region.
Training for preschool ministry is offered outside the region. Depending on your current educational training and experience, we suggest you do the Foundations in Education or the School of Early Childhood Studies and the Preschool in a Suitcase training. See the ywam.org website for training programs and locations.
