As two of our staff sat to eat their lunch at a vendor on the side of the road, they noticed a garbage collector under a nearby tree, eating his lunch by himself. He was surprised when they invited him to eat with them and he hesitantly joined them.
He told them that although he is a Muslim, he goes every Thursday to the meetings at the church in Garbage City. He said that he feels like he gets washed clean each time he goes – he knows something is different. They were able to share the gospel and answer his questions.
When lunch was finished, they prayed together and he gave his life to Jesus. He said “I don’t read or write and I need someone to read the Bible to me. I need someone to teach me how to pray, how to live as a follower of Jesus.” One of the guys is happily continuing to meet, read and pray with him.
